Review in a Nutshell: A horror-comedy with the sensibilities of a Nineties kid’s show crossed with a video game (complimentary), Psycho Goreman (2020) has strong comic timing, great production design, and solid performances from its cast.

I also think that in “horror-comedy” the comedy undermines the horror, so it winds up just being a comedy with horror elements rather than actually being scary. The primary exception is “You’re Next”, which managed to be surprising in both a funny & horrific way with a couple trap killings in particular.
I enjoyed both The Void and Psycho Goreman a good deal, though as indicated I think of the former as a horror movie and the latter as a comedy. I haven’t yet seen Frankie Freako, and like Gremlins less than most viewers (I didn’t find it especially funny or scary, but perhaps I was too old when I saw it), but I expect I will eventually.
