Review in a Nutshell: Despite a few odd directorial flourishes, Firefox is an entertaining hybrid of Cold war espionage and high-tech aviation. Unfortunately, Clint Eastwood’s shell-shocked protagonist isn’t as engaging as the other supporting characters.

Review in a Nutshell: A revisionist Western with a splash of the supernatural added in, High Plains Drifter is well-constructed but morally bleak film that weaves a tale of lost souls, greed, conspiracy, and revenge from beyond the grave.

Review in a Nutshell: A spy movie based off of a deadly serious reading of a satirical novel by Trevanian, The Eiger Sanction captures the zeitgeist of the Seventies in a way that few other films do, not that this is always a good thing. The mountain-climbing scenes in the third act are breath-taking.
