We bring the funny?

Don’t eat the cotton candy, because Killer Klowns from Outer Space is the Greatest Movie EVER!

This episode features special guest host Luke “Sasquatch” White.

Review in a Nutshell:  Equal parts bad puns and great make-up effects, Killer Klowns from Outer Space deserves every ounce of its cult film cred.  Come for the Chiodos, stay for the Klowns.

This movie contains:

Killer Klowns.

In Chicago, there is a show that comes on late night on Saturdays called ‘Svengoolie’. Its this guy dressed up, looks a bit undead, has a top hat, named of course Svengoolie, who plays these truly awful horror movies. I have seen some very good movies from this, most especially People Under The Stairs with the kid who played little Michael in ‘Jacksons: The American Dream’. But I digress. A couple of weeks ago, he played this particular movie, and I only caught the tail end, when they were running around inside the spaceship rescuing the chick, and I thought that that was pretty awesome. I mean, wasn’t that scary. Now I’m kinda glad I didn’t know about the cotton candy, or the vantriliquist thing, because that probably would have scared the living hell out of me. Its not the big budget ‘Saw’s or ‘Hostel’s that scare me…its the low budget, creative sh*t. THAT is truly horrifying.

And not all fat chicks put out, jerk. Least not any of the fat chicks I know.

This movie was one of the main reaons why I fear clowns, however the movie was never scary to me, just creepy as you stated.

You guys were pretty spot on with the whole review. Luke is an enjoyable co-host, but then again he shares the genes of Joel White, so how could he not be awesome? 😛

Thanks for making my Friday morning more enjoyable.

  3. James says:

I agree with Ro, thank you for coming through with a clutch pod cast to help turn my crappy day around.
Also, I have much love for the Killer Klowns. Saw this movie on the Sci-Fi channel as a kid, scared the crap out of me.

I’ve seen this movie in my rental shop so much, but I always have to look away; I am absolutely terrified of clowns. I don’t care how damn funny and inept this film is, I will never watch it. But it was a good podcast; I hope that Luke will become a new regular guest like Daryl or Dave and Joel! Though I find it odd how you know him through WOW, yet his brother Joel seems to hate it. Every time it’s brought up by Dave on Fast Karate, he slaps it down.

  5. *does her best sultry voice* Well hellooo, Mr. White. You can podcast anytime you like.

Heh. Seriously, you sound like you’ve been doing this as long as your brother.

Congrats Paul, you’ve added another great co-host to the podcast.

On the subject of Killer Clowns, the one thing I disagree on is the sports moms’ dialogue. Why must random NPCs always have plot-relevant dialogue? Why shouldn’t they just be obsessing over their lives like everyone else?

And whether its Ice Castles, Cutting Edge or another hokey ‘Hallmark Movie Special’ (*coughcough* Gakuen Romance/Sports manga) they all boil down to the same contrived plot. Not to be all Daryl Surat, but most of these movies are rose-colored fairy tales that fart false expectations at women.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space…… holy shit.

  7. Karry says:

Wait, so if its not Dave&Joel – its some relative of those two fucktards ? What is it about that brainlacking duo thats so appealing to you ?

  8. I used to work for a circus. Killer Klowns from Outer Space is little more than a documentary on some of the scariest people on the fringes of society.

Also, I don’t recall hearing mention of this in the podcast, but the music for KK was done by none other than John Massari, who also did the music for The Wizard of Speed and Time.

  9. Jeff Tatarek says:

I’m a longtime fan of this film, and also a fan of the theme song, performed by The Dickies. Even got some play on MTV, back when they showed music videos…

Great job by both Luke and Paul on this episode. It’s great when both parties on the mic really enjoy the film they’re reviewing.

  10. Eduardo M. says:

MTV showed music video?? YOU LIE!!!

I’ve seen this movie ONCE. Not a good idea to do so when its late at night and you have insomnia.
