Review in a Nutshell: The beginning of the end for the first series of Batman films, Batman Forever features some eerie set design and cool costuming, but an incomplete narrative and a wildly inconsistent tone tends to drag the film down.
Do you think all restaurants are Taco Bell because of Demolition Man?
Yes.
Ah yes, Batman Forever, one of the films that fueled the “bad movie review” cottage industry on YouTube when everyone wanted be the next Plinkett/Nostalgia Critic.
BTW I watched the SW prequels while growing up in a country that never got the old movies. I and everyone I knew saw Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones without any knowledge of OT ever existing, and LOVED it. They are good movies, but the cool kids on the american Internet won’t respect you if you say it. But very nice of you of poisoning the well very skillfully and quickly.
I have no problem with people who like the Star Wars prequels. A lot of people were kids when they saw them. My only beef is with the recent attempt by many young Youtube critic types to try to rehabilitate the films, which is an effort that I reject. I don’t consider them good movies, but I’m not going to hate on the people that like them. Life’s too short to spend it arguing about Star Wars.
