I only saw this for the 1st time on Tuesday. I am SOOOO sorry it took me that long. Carpenter is a bloody genius. Not to mention that this movie proves something I’ve known since the TV show Gargoyles, KEITH DAVID IS A BADASS!!!

Great show and but I do have one nit picky thing to say Roddy Piper had ever right to blast away those aliens they were ratting him out that he had the sunglasses. Reason enough to me for him to wanna blast all of the “Formaldehyde Face” aliens back to their planet. Keep up the awesome show.

God this is a good movie. Great podcast. Now just do repo man and my life will be complete.

Also, Brian, if I recall correctly, Rowdy Roddy starts wasting aliens well before they realize that they ‘have one who can see’.

  4. Firest says:

Great podcast, but now you have to do Roddy Pipers Acadamy Award winning masterpiece, Hell Comes to Frogtown.

More 80s-tastic movies would be welcome. Remember the episode in which there was talk of “movies I was never allowed to see as a kid” like Adventures in Babysitting? Go for it.

Am I the only one that died on the inside when Gooberzilla didn’t do the voice modulation? >_<

  8. Keith says:

Has Keith David ever been in a movie with David Keith?

My only problem with Keith David is that now, any time I hear his voice, I want to join the military.

Since the forums are gone, I thought I’d put this here.

Special Effects master Stan Winston has died of cancer at 62. From the news story…

    [quote]
Winston died at his home in Malibu surrounded by family on Sunday evening after a seven-year struggle with multiple myeloma, according to a representative from Stan Winston Studio.

Winston won visual effects Oscars for 1986’s “Aliens,” 1992’s “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” and 1993’s “Jurassic Park.” He also won a makeup Oscar for 1992’s “Batman Returns.”

Winston was nominated for his work on “Heartbeeps,” “Predator,” “Edward Scissorhands,” “Batman Returns,” “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” and “A.I.”

He last worked with director Jon Favreau on “Iron Man.”

Few cinema classics have such a fight scene (with that many consecutive knees to the nuts) as They Live… I’m in agreeement with Evil Lynn’s eyes. Also, i noticed the aliens at the cable company appear to have found a warehouse full of PKE detectors from Ghostbusters and re-purposed/distributed them to all soliders as walkie-talkies with unnecessary moving lights. Smart.
