Cage Rage: Raising Arizona

Strap into your car-seats, because Raising Arizona is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.

Review in a Nutshell:  Only the Coen Brothers could pull off a comedy about infant kidnapping.  Raising Arizona features great performances, wacky situations, excellent cinematography, good pacing, and the Coen Brother’s trademark twisted sense of humor.

COMING SOON!

We get in the mood for Howl-oween with a truly dire film and a truly fabulous guest host.

I remember first watching Raising Arizona Thanksgiving in 87. My family and I watched it alongwith An American Tail. To this day my dad and I still use the phrase “And he was especially hard on the little things” whenever we can

A very good movie. The right kind of offbeat and weird if you ask me. The image of John Goodman making the jail break in the rain is great. And the trailer fight is hilarious in it’s realism.

If I cared at all to use what I learned in school about making graphs, it seems that the closer that the Cohens get to straight up comedy, the less likeable that film is. Yes, doesn’t work because of Lebowski, but when they get dark and dirty, it seems like a hit.

I can’t wait for 4 years from now, when you discuss “True Grit”

  4. Ian says:

So after a year of Cage. You should do a Decade of Dennehy.

  5. Eduardo M. says:

or how about The Century of Ironside, or the Millenium of Statham, or the Epoch of Welker?

  6. VichusSmith says:

What about the minute of Mary Stuart Masterson?

  7. Brian Gustavson says:

Nice podcast but I have to go with Paul on this one. Raising Arizona is one of those films you watch once every 20 years. As for next possible themes you could go with the month(s) of Moranis.
