Review in a Nutshell: Universally pilloried for Stallone’s poor performance, the terrible writing, and the lame jokes, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is not as bad as you would expect it to be, largely because Estelle Getty is quite a charming lady. This film plays like a forensic examination on how not to make a comedy, and for that reason I find it fascinating.
The Greatest Movie EVER! Podcast 
I think we are of like minds about this movie. I would be curious as to your feelings on Oscar. For years as a kid it was a movie that my brothers and I would watch together. I’ve always had a special love for gangster comedy. My trilogy would be Oscar, Johnny Dangerously, and Harlem Nights.
P.S. I would very much look forward to a Suburban Commando podcast which is another film that was in heavy rotation In our home.

Got to say, I kind of agree with her on this….
I shave in the shower. It’s easy. You don’t have to use shaving cream. You let the water run on you face while you shave.
I haven’t seen the movie, so if he’s got cream on his face in the shower, that’s just dumb.
I also shave in the shower, though I do still use cream. I just aim the shower head to my chest so it doesn’t all wash off. It didn’t take all that long to get used to, either. I get the larger areas like the cheeks, neck, and chin, then take care of the smaller areas in the mirror when I get out.
But for the movie, I also tried to like it, but couldn’t. It’s a joke that belongs in a short SNL skit and not a 90min feature. Stallone was too good for this movie, but I think they needed an action star like him to really hit the joke home.
