Review in a Nutshell: Often imitated by never duplicated, Them! is a tightly paced science fiction thriller that kicked off the “giant insect” phase of Atomic Horror films in the Fifties.

Tubi has a great, GME-style selection, but I do wish there was at least the option to subscribe and eliminate ads. There are some movies I can only find streaming on Tubi, with no option to buy/rent elsewhere ad-free. Another intriguing model is offered by Kanopy, which is free, and the “catch” is that it requires a library card. I signed up with Boston Public Library (I live in MA, not Boston) and can watch seven movies a month — just like when Netflix streaming first started. I’m certain it’s ad-free, but I’ve been seven minutes into Dragonslayer for months and so can’t confirm. In other words: “Great service, I don’t use it” 😐
