Fire up your Thermos cannons, because Alien: Resurrection is (probably not) the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean Ryan of the Alpha Counter podcast.

Review in a Nutshell:  Strong set design and the presence of Ron Perlman are not enough to save Alien: Resurrection, a film that is saddled with a mediocre Joss Whedon script and the bizarre cinematic affectations of Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Hide your kids, hide your wives, because Humanoids from the Deep (aka Monster) is the Greatest Movie EVER?

Click on the movie poster above to download our review of the film, featuring Oliver from the Brain Palace podcast and Mike Dent from R5 Central.

(This was actually the least raunchy poster I could find.  Do not Google image search for Humanoids from the Deep with your ‘Safe Search’ settings turned off.)

Review in a Nutshell:  Yes, it’s THAT movie.  The one with the rubber fishmen getting a bit too fresh with nubile young ladies in bikinis.  Nuff said.

This movie contains:

Vic Morrow, Drunken Sailor.

“Sushi.  Cold fish.  That’s what my wife called me…”

The most effective seduction technique ever captured on film.

Parental Training for Atomic Reptiles

Activate the weather control balloons, because Son of Godzilla is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the DVD cover or the movie title above to download our review of the film, featuring the return of M.O.M.!

Review in a Nutshell:  A film that includes baby dinosaur shenanigans, tropical hijinks, and rampaging arthropods, Son of Godzilla is one of the goofier entries in the Showa series.  Many fans revile it for the introduction of the titular character, but the film is still something of a guilty pleasure here at the Greatest Movie EVER! Podcast.

This movie contains:

SCIENCE!

The true peril of giant arachnid research.

ARGH!  KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Gordon’s Alive!?!

Strap on your hawk wings and your emerald green leggings, because Flash Gordon is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the poster or the movie title above to download our review of the film, featuring Ken Nabbe, aka The Internet’s Joey Snackpants.

Review in a Nutshell:  A film that wallows a little too much in its own sense of campiness, Flash Gordon nevertheless has great costumes, colorful sets, and solid model design.  The supporting characters, especially the villains, really steal the show.

“Why is there a watermelon there?”

Fire up the Oscillation Overthruster, because Buckaroo Banzai is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the poster or the movie title above to download our review of the film, featuring guest cohost Clarissa Graffeo of AnimeWorldOrder.

Review in a Nutshell:  Idiosyncratic and unapologetic, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is a unique film with elements of science fiction, action, adventure, and comedy.  You’ll either love it or hate it; there is no middle ground.

This movie contains:

Robocop.

Lex Luthor.

Dr. Ian Malcolm.

Third Rock from the Sun.

Who Shook the Lava Lamp?

I hope you paid off your dangerous, experimental surgery premiums, because Fantastic Voyage is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Review in a Nutshell:  Psychedelic and more than a little absurd, Fantastic Voyage is a film that benefits greatly from a second viewing.  Plus, Raquel Welch in a skin-tight wetsuit.
