Saddle up, because My Little Pony: Equestria Girls is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Kara Dennison of conscrewDOTcom and celebrity translator Neil Nadelman.

Review in a Nutshell: It’s tough to review Equestria Girls in a vacuum since it’s not so much a standalone film as an “Elseworlds” side-story packed with heavy fan-service and inside jokes. We were all pleasantly surprised that we enjoyed it.

Stomp Romp / Zilla Thrilla: Kenny’s Misspent Youth

Godzilla’s not dead but merely resting, and we’re continuing the Godzilla theme coverage with a review of the much-reviled Godzilla’s Revenge, aka All Monsters Attack. Please note: this film contains neither Godzilla nor revenge, but it does have some harrowing things to say about the plight of latch-key children in post-industrial Tokyo. Hold onto your Power Poles, because Dragonball: Evolution is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the podcast,
featuring Gerald Rathkolb, Mike Dent, and Evan Minto.

Review in a Nutshell: A cinematic disaster on multiple levels, Dragonball: Evolution nonetheless has glimmers of competence that make for an entertaining, if cringe-inducing, viewing.

“What? How come I don’t get my name in the title!?!”

Special thanks to Michael Scally for designing the Stomp Romp banner.

Bonus Content: Three-Person Pony Apocalypse

To heck with movies, it’s time to talk about some kiddy cartoons.

CLICK HERE or on the image above to download a bonus episode in which guest hosts Clarissa and Gerald from AnimeWorldOrder help Paul review My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Review in a Nutshell:  Our topics of the discussion run the gamut of gender roles, feminism, intertextuality, mythology, and the nature of strong characters and clever writing.

We explore thoroughly what it means to be adults enjoying a cartoon meant for children.  This podcast is a counterpoint to the one published by Jeremy and company over at Destroy All Podcasts DX.

Logic: 1, Magic: Big Fat Zero

Dust off the lances and saddle up your trusty steed, because The Flight of Dragons is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the DVD cover or the movie title above to download our review of the film, featuring guest co-host Chad “Winter” Clayton.

Review in a Nutshell:  With a narrative borrowed from several different sources, The Flight of Dragons gets by more on its weird visual aesthetic than on the strength of its story.  This film is another Rankin / Bass related emotional scar on my childhood.

This movie contains:

Evil Dragons.

Scary Wizards.

Everybody Dies.

Terror-dactyl!

No, it’s not an obscure but terrifying poetic form, it’s Q, the Winged Serpent, the Greatest Movie EVER!

Review in a Nutshell:  This movies is BAD.  Really, really bad.  No, I’m serious.  It’s bad.  Even the presence of David Carradine and Richard Roundtree cannot salvage this film.

On the plus side, Claymation dragon-dinosaur.

Robot + Dinosaur = NIGHTMARE!

Don’t try to salvage giant alien robots, because Terror of Mechagodzilla is

The Greatest Movie EVER!

Review in a Nutshell: The final entry in the ‘Showa’ Godzilla series, Terror of Mechagodzilla boasts the return of Ishiro Honda and a darker, more somber tone than many previous films.  The seriousness is a bit of a mismatch with the silver jumpsuits and the fan-blade butt dinosaurs.

This movie contains:

Mad Scientists.

Cyborg Technology!

Astromen from Outer Space.

ROBOT DINOSAURS.

Drow are Wussies

Cuddle up with a cute half-orc man slave,

because Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God

is the Greatest Movie EVER!

This movie contains:

OH SNAP! A MIGHTY KRAKEN!

Champagne Villains.

BARBARIAN RAGE!

FINAL THOUGHT:

Undertones!

COMING SOON!

“GRRR! ARGH!”

Big Month of Mark – Double Dragon

The Greatest Movie EVER!

Abobo can’t drive, and Double Dragon is the Greatest Movie EVER!

This movie contains:

Robert Patrick doesn't even care.

AWESOME HAIR.

Kick him in the pit!

Fuzzy Memories.
