Godzilla’s not dead but merely resting, and we’re continuing the Godzilla theme coverage with a review of the much-reviled Godzilla’s Revenge, aka All Monsters Attack. Please note: this film contains neither Godzilla nor revenge, but it does have some harrowing things to say about the plight of latch-key children in post-industrial Tokyo. “Who’s the Master?”

You’ve got the Glow, because Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the DVD cover or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.
Review in a Nutshell: The Last Dragon is an uneven movie. Half musical, half martial arts journey, the film suffers from a weakly-written protagonist played by a talented young athlete with no previous acting experience. It falls to the supporting cast – especially Julius J. Carry III as Sho’Nuff, the Shogun of Harlem – to carry the film.
See You, Space Cowboy.
Beware of space banditos, because Battle Beyond the Stars is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the Bluray disc cover or the title above to download our review of the film,
featuring Jeff “Rich Lather” Tatarek.
Review in a Nutshell: A science fiction pastiche that borrows liberally from The Magnificent Seven and Star Wars, Battle Beyond the Stars is nonetheless a low-budget romp that showcases a young James Cameron’s eye for production design and also includes colorful performances from veteran character actors.
This movie contains:
John Saxon, Space Tyrant.
Melancholy Lizardmen.
Hey, man. It’s impolite to point.
“BOOOOOOOOOOOOY!”

Break out the impromptu guitar jam sessions, because Phantasm is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film,
featuring Tom Pandich of Tomics! by Tom!!! and the Alter Ego’s podcast.
Review in a Nutshell: Phantasm is a shining example of that rarest breed of horror film – the horror movie that functions on a symbolic level. Strange, dream-like, and surreal, it’s a movie that constantly challenges the viewers’ expectations.
‘Expertise and Child for Rent’

Get ready to walk the Road to Hell, because Shogun Assassin (aka Lone Wolf and Cub) is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the British DVD cover or the title above to download our review of the film,
featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.
Review in a Nutshell: A mash-up of the first two Lone Wolf and Cub films, Shogun Assassin stands on its own merits thanks to its original contributions, such as the weird electronic soundtrack and Daigoro’s voice-over. It’s an excellent introduction into the world of chanbara and jidaigeki films.
Thing-Moth-Blob-Dog-Peter-O’TOOOOOOOOLE
Get ready to fire all your ammunition at that scary moth,
because Phantoms is (probably not) the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film,
featuring Dave and Joel from Fast Karate for the Gentleman.
Review in a Nutshell: This movie is entirely forgettable. Dean Koontz’s writing causes temporary amnesia. Wait, what were we talking about again? Who are you people? What is this place?

“The more you drive, the less intelligent you are.”

Always wear your seatbelt, because Repo Man is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the Bluray cover or the movie title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.
Review in a Nutshell: A confluence of punk rock anarchy and self-deprecating suburban cynicism, Repo Man is also a high concept, low budget science fiction film with a bizarre sense of humor and an avante-garde edge. It’s the kind of film that could only have come from the early Eighties.
Emergency Podcast System: Pacific Rim

Get back in your giant robot, because Pacific Rim is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film,
featuring Thomas Pandich of Tomics! By Tom!!! and the Alter Ego’s podcast.
Review in a Nutshell: If you have any affection in your heart for super robot anime or giant rubber monsters, you owe it to yourself to check out Pacific Rim. It has some of the best special effects and production design you’re likely to see for some time, and it manages to be uplifting and hopeful rather than gritty and grimdark.
Fred Ward, Action Hero
Don’t let the bad guys get away with it, because Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean ‘Hollywood’ Hunting.
Review in a Nutshell: Based off of a long-running series of ‘men’s adventure’ novels, Remo Williams tries to emulate the James Bond films and to find a happy middle ground between action-movie seriousness and tongue-in-cheek camp. It does not ultimately succeed, but the film inspires some interesting conversation.
Donkeys have HUGE ears.

Saddle up your burro, because The Valley of Gwangi is the Greatest Movie EVER!
Click on the moview poster or the title above to download our review of the film,
featuring M.O.M., the Mistress of Malapropisms.
Review in a Nutshell: Essentially a re-telling of King Kong without the troubling racial subtext, The Valley of Gwangi pits real cowboys against stop-motion animation dinosaurs. The visual effects by Ray Harryhausen are outstanding.
