Strap on your sidearm, because Johnny Guitar is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring guest host Neil Nadelman.

Review in a Nutshell:  An atypical Western filled with strong feminist themes, male insecurity, and sublimated sexual tension, Johnny Guitar is an oddly subversion film from the 1950s.  It’s little wonder that French New Wave directors loved this film.

Review in a Nutshell:  A sometimes trashy, sometimes gruesome science fiction / horror movie with great production design and a well-rounded cast of character actors, Galaxy of Terror is half Alien rip-off and half homage to 1950s films like Forbidden Planet.  Watch it if you dare.

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring the UK’s own Ollie Bulmer.

Review in a Nutshell:  Great special effects, droll British performances, and the lovely Mathilda May can’t prevent this troubled Golan / Globus production from being tugged in too many different directions at once.  Is this the Greatest Movie EVER?  Ollie and I disagree.

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.

Review in a Nutshell:  An extremely dry, Scandinavian comedy masquerading as a found-footage horror film, Trollhunter is a movie filled with environmental metaphors, social commentary, and trolls.

deathstalker

Dust off your loincloth, because Deathstalker is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Katherin the Great.

Review in a Nutshell:  Ostensibly a sword and sorcery fantasy, Deathstalker is mostly an excuse to show female nudity and male semi-nudity.  This film puts the ‘exploit’ in exploitation film.

My Brother’s Keeper

Beware of bargains that you can’t refuse, because The Proposition is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.

Review in a Nutshell:  A bleak film filled with complex characters and a plot of primal simplicity, The Proposition transplants the modern revisionist Western into the Australian Outback.  Savage and starkly beautiful, it can be difficult to watch, but it’s impossible to ignore.

Cyberpunkin’ the Information Superhighway

Boot up your Cybercycle Discs, because Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the DVD cover or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Andrew from The Veef Show.

Review in a Nutshell:  Lawnmower Man 2, aside from being a cultural artifact of early `90s science fiction film, is a hilariously inept chunk of pseudo-cyberpunk cinema that makes for a rollicking fun watch.

Hold on to your nunchucks, because Enter the Dragon is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.

Review in a Nutshell:  A genre-blending movie that reshaped the cinematic landscape, Enter the Dragon is the film that made Bruce Lee a legend.  While parts of it may seem hokey today, the Enter the Dragon remains consistently entertaining nearly four decades after its original release.

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring guest host Max Dunn.

Review in a Nutshell:  A low budget slasher flick produced by Roger Corman and directed by Jim Wynorski, Chopping Mall is better than it has any right to be.  The killer robots steal the show.

featuring Ollie “InvidNinja92” Bulmer, formerly of the Welcome to the Brain Palace Podcast.

This episode is part of a cross-over event for the Mysterious Order of the Skeleton Suit.

Review in a Nutshell:  An Italian exploitation film with Gothic themes and a microscopic budget, Nude for Satan features one of the most hilarious “woman menaced by giant spider” scenes ever caught on film.

FINAL THOUGHT:

This is the Redemption DVD cover of Nude for Satan.  Neither this woman nor that devil paw appear in this film.
