Let your freak flag fly, because Nightbreed is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the Bluray cover or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring ‘Internet Terrorist’ Tom Pandich and Violence Jill.

Review in a Nutshell: Clive Barker is a weird dude and Canada is a strange place in this dark fantasy / supernatural romance that was originally miss-advertised as a slasher flick. The Director’s Cut of Nightbreed is a superior version of the film in nearly every respect, although Paul still has his reservations.  See the film for its imaginative make-up effects and grim sense of humor.

Review in a Nutshell: A dark fantasy Spanish / Italian / Mexican co-production that cribs liberally from such films as Conan the Barbarian, Clan of the Cave Bear, Clash of the Titans, and Beastmaster, Conquest is long on smoke machines and short on plot. Expect wolf men, cave men, swamp mummies, and bows that shoot lasers. It’s a very strange film which I think everyone should watch, because Lucio Fulci is a weird dude.

Review in a Nutshell:  An extremely dry, Scandinavian comedy masquerading as a found-footage horror film, Trollhunter is a movie filled with environmental metaphors, social commentary, and trolls.

Hold onto you noses, because Conan the Barbarian (2011) is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Dave and Joel from Fast Karate for the Gentleman.

Review in a Nutshell:  Although the film contains good casting and some truly hilarious moments, the new Conan film is missing a certain something that puts our guest hosts ill at ease.  Paul still considers it to be the “feel-good family comedy of the year.”

“Werewolves Kick the @#$% out of Vampires, Part 1”

Break out the repeating crossbows, because Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or movie title above to download our review of the film.

Review in a Nutshell: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the best of the Underworld series, mostly because it riffs on Lord of the Rings rather than The Matrix.  Also, this time the vampires finally get what’s coming to them.

This movie contains:

Ugly Vampires.

Scruffy Werewolves.

‘Unconfirmed’ Kills.
