Final Thought:

“Hi, guuuuuuuuuy.”

Review in a Nutshell: It’s Jason. In Space. `Nuff said.

You Can’t Hit Me With Your Slow Bullets.

versus

Sharpen up your katana, because Versus is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the DVD cover or the title above to download our review of the film,

featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting and Daryl Surat of AnimeWorldOrder.

Review in a Nutshell: Frenetic, funny, and action-packed, Versus is a genre-bending action / horror / Yakuza picture with a mystic twist. It’s an independent movie with a small budget and a big heart.

This movie poster is entirely accurate.

Polish up your golden, spiked bikini because Conquest is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the (ENTIRELY ACCURATE) movie poster or the title above

to download our review of the film, featuring guest host Oli Bulmer.

Review in a Nutshell: A dark fantasy Spanish / Italian / Mexican co-production that cribs liberally from such films as Conan the Barbarian, Clan of the Cave Bear, Clash of the Titans, and Beastmaster, Conquest is long on smoke machines and short on plot. Expect wolf men, cave men, swamp mummies, and bows that shoot lasers. It’s a very strange film which I think everyone should watch, because Lucio Fulci is a weird dude.

“BOOOOOOOOOOOOY!”

phantasm
Break out the impromptu guitar jam sessions, because Phantasm is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film,

featuring Tom Pandich of Tomics! by Tom!!! and the Alter Ego’s podcast.

Review in a Nutshell: Phantasm is a shining example of that rarest breed of horror film – the horror movie that functions on a symbolic level. Strange, dream-like, and surreal, it’s a movie that constantly challenges the viewers’ expectations.

FINAL THOUGHT:

The Zany Hijinks of My Buddy Pyramid Head & Me

shr3D_poster
Sharpen your butcher knives, because Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean ‘Hollywood’ Hunting.

Review in a Nutshell: A misguided attempt to bring the plot of the films in line with the narrative of the video games, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D tries for grotesque horror and fails spectacularly with hilarious results. Few films have made me laugh this hard while attempting to scare or unsettle me.

lifeforce_poster

Hold onto your precious essence, because Lifeforce is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring the UK’s own Ollie Bulmer.

Review in a Nutshell:  Great special effects, droll British performances, and the lovely Mathilda May can’t prevent this troubled Golan / Globus production from being tugged in too many different directions at once.  Is this the Greatest Movie EVER?  Ollie and I disagree.

Revenge of the Ugly Puppy Syndrome

Fire up your motorcycle, because Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Daryl Surat of AnimeWorldOrder and Rachel Pandich, author of Aspire.

Review in a Nutshell:  This movie is enjoyably terrible, and the review strays into some surprisingly intellectual territory.  We are all shameless Nicolas Cage apologists. Do not believe our lies.

Punching Snakemen, Savin’ the President

Hook up the electrodes, because Dreamscape is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Click on the movie poster or the title above to download our review of the film, featuring Sean “Hollywood” Hunting.

Review in a Nutshell:  Aside from a questionable “dream invasion” or two, Dreamscape is a fun little film that plays with the idea of psychic powers and dream manipulation.  Despite having a small budget, it has numerous strong performances and some decent special effects.

This movie contains:

SCIENCE!

The nefarious George Wendt?

Tragic Snake Face.
